We recently completed a coffee truck vehicle renovation for Boxed Drinks Coffee Trucks, focusing on the structural and fabrication elements required to transform the van into a solid, functional base ready for final fit-out and equipment installation.

This project centred on repairing external vehicle issues and creating a strong, durable internal framework to support countertops, cabinetry, and future coffee equipment.

Project Overview

The project brief was to prepare the vehicle to a high standard so it could be confidently built upon in later stages. Our scope of work included addressing external vehicle issues to ensure the van was structurally sound and weather-resistant, followed by the fabrication and installation of a bespoke internal box-section framework. This framework would form the structural core of the coffee truck layout, supporting worktops and future installations while making the best possible use of the available space.

Throughout the project, careful consideration was given to strength, accuracy, and finish, ensuring all work was completed to a professional standard suitable for a commercial environment.

External Repairs

Before any interior fabrication could begin, the vehicle required attention to a number of external issues. These repairs were essential to ensure the van was watertight, structurally secure, and fit for long-term commercial use. Our team carried out the necessary work to restore the exterior, providing a stable and reliable shell for the internal build.

Completing these repairs at the outset helped protect the interior framework and worktops from future damage and ensured the vehicle was properly prepared for the next stages of the conversion.

Internal Metalwork & Framework

Once the exterior was complete, we fabricated and installed a bespoke box-section framework inside the vehicle. This internal metalwork was designed to provide a strong, rigid structure capable of supporting worktops and accommodating future equipment installation. The framework was manufactured to precise measurements to ensure it fit seamlessly within the vehicle and allowed for an efficient internal layout.

By using robust materials and careful fabrication techniques, we created an internal structure that offers long-term durability while maintaining a clean and professional appearance.

Worktop Installation

As part of the interior build, durable worktops were supplied and installed directly onto the box-section framework. These surfaces were selected for their strength and suitability for commercial use, providing a practical and hard-wearing workspace within the vehicle. Each worktop was accurately fitted to align with the internal framework, ensuring a neat finish and reliable support.

The completed worktops provide a functional working surface that integrates seamlessly with the metal framework and is ready for final equipment installation.

The completed renovation has provided Boxed Drinks Coffee Trucks with a professionally prepared vehicle, featuring repaired and reinforced exterior panels, a robust internal metal framework, and well-fitted commercial-grade worktops.
